In fact, the ads were so popular they even attracted the attention of famed director Shekhar Kapur. Entranced by Preity's presence, Kapur decided to cast her as the lead in his next film, Tara Rum Pum Pum. Although the movie never got made, Kapur's interest in Preity created a buzz throughout the industry and she soon made her acting debut in 1998's Dil Se. Preity's performance was a hit with fans and critics alike and she promptly won a Filmfare Award for Best Debut.
Two additional movies followed in 1998, including Premante Idera and Soldier, for which Preity won a Star Screen Award for Most Promising Newcomer and a Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut.
Showing no signs of a sophomore slump, Preity starred in three high-profile films in 1999, including Raja Kumarudu, Sangharsh and Dillagi. The films established Preity as one of the nation's most promising young stars, although the best of her was still yet to come.

About prity zinta

She's hit the highway 2003 year with two good performances The Hero and Armaan and one big hit Koi... Mil Gaya.
